Platform Rules & Launch Mechanics
LaunchOnIt runs on fair, transparent, weekly launch rules. Every product gets a dedicated launch window, authentic community discovery, and earned podium recognition.
1. Weekly Launch Cycle
Products launch in synchronized weekly lineups running from Monday 00:00 UTC to Sunday 23:59 UTC.
- •Each weekly lineup offers 20 free launch slots, so every launch gets real attention instead of getting buried in an endless feed. Paid plans get a guaranteed spot even once a week is full.
- •A live countdown clock on the homepage shows the time remaining in the current voting week.
- •When the Sunday deadline hits, the week finalizes and a new weekly lineup begins immediately Monday at 00:00 UTC with a clean slate.
2. Authentic Community Voting
Rank within each weekly lineup is determined by authenticated community upvotes:
- •One vote per user per product: upvoting requires a signed-in, verified account to prevent bot swarms.
- •Fair discovery: every product shows live upvote counts, maker info, and a verified outbound link.
- •No vote buying: automated voting bots, click farms, or incentivized upvote rings result in immediate listing removal and domain blacklisting.
3. Launch Tiers & Backlink Verification
Makers choose from three transparent submission tiers, detailed on the pricing page:
- •Free ($0): joins the next open weekly launch with standard queue access. Embedding the official LaunchOnIt badge on your homepage or footer is optional: embedding it unlocks a Verified Maker checkmark and a permanent dofollow backlink (without the badge, the profile link is nofollow unless the listing finishes in the Top 3 podium).
- •Launch ($19): a guaranteed spot in the currently live week right away, even if it's already full, no badge embed required, priority feed placement, and a permanent dofollow backlink regardless of rank.
- •Growth ($39): everything in Launch, plus a dedicated human-written review article published to the blog with its own Schema.org Review markup, distributed through our programmatic SEO pages.
4. Eligible Products & Content Guidelines
LaunchOnIt is built for real software: indie tools, SaaS products, developer utilities, and digital products.
- •Direct destination URLs only. URL shorteners, affiliate redirects, and spam cloaking are blocked.
- •Malware, phishing, illegal services, gambling, and duplicate re-listings are strictly prohibited.
- •Every listing must accurately describe its target audience, the problem it solves, its uniqueness, and its pricing model.
5. The Sunday Podium & Hall of Fame
When a weekly lineup concludes every Sunday at 23:59 UTC:
- •The #1, #2, and #3 products earn permanent podium badges (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and a permanent dofollow backlink, visible on their product page forever.
- •The week's top finishers are archived in the Hall of Fame and highlighted in the weekly community digest email.
- •A new weekly lineup begins immediately every Monday at 00:00 UTC with a clean slate.
6. Product Relaunches & Iterative Releases
Software evolves quickly. A single launch week should never be your only shot at attention.
- •Schedule directly from your dashboard: if you shipped a major feature update, redesigned your app, or want another 7 days of front-page discovery, you can schedule a relaunch in an upcoming weekly launch.
- •Instant first relaunch: your first relaunch has no cooldown period. Subsequent relaunches require a 30-day breather between weekly launches to keep the board fresh.
- •Level competition: each relaunch enters that week's lineup at zero weekly votes so every participant gets a fair race toward the top 3 podium.
- •Permanent directory equity: all your previous directory upvotes, reviews, podium finishes, and earned dofollow backlinks stay locked in your product's history timeline.
- •Supporters can vote again: community members who backed your product previously can vote again in each new launch week.
